This is one of 2 fan houses that ventilated this Delaware and Hudson Coal Co. Mine. They sucked the gassy air out of the mine through 2 compartments of the Dickson Shaft. The haulage shaft is directly between the 2 concrete airways and there was 2 compartments for haulage. Now the shaft is filled and capped. This was one of Hudson Coal's largest operations and its one of only 3 fan houses in the northern field with intact guibal fans, 2 of which are Hudson Coal.
